The invoice lands against the order it came from
Purchase Orders go to suppliers, Work Orders to contractors. Raising one commits the cost immediately. Receipting an invoice converts that portion to actual. Supplier Invoice Management shows status across every project rather than one job at a time.

An invoice needs to be matched to its order and the work it belongs to. Keeping the order, line detail and task together gives the person reviewing it a useful starting point.
